Youth Tee Ball & Baseball Programs

Tee Ball League (4-5 YRS)

The Healdsburg Parks and Recreation Department offers a highly regarded, recreational, fun-based baseball league for boys and girls 4 - 5 years old. Our program teaches young players the game of baseball and provides them one of their first opportunities to participate on a team. Practices and games focus on having fun and learning the basics of the game including throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases, in a supportive, noncompetitive atmosphere.

Volunteer coaches, with support from Recreation staff; lead practices and games. Participants play on a modified field and hit off a standing tee. Tee ball is noncompetitive with the focus on skill development and learning to be part of a team. Players and coaches receive a team t-shirt and baseball cap.
This is a spring program. Registration will open in early 2017!
Tee Ball

Little Sluggers (6-7 YRS)

(Machine Pitch)

This program is the next progression from Tee Ball. Players now have the opportunity to swing at a pitch! In this non-competitive program, coaches will slow pitch a ball to players with the aim of increasing their hand-eye coordination; if unsuccessful after three strikes, batters will have the opportunity to hit from a tee. Outs will be called for throws to first base before the hitter reaches and for balls caught out of the air only. All players will receive a team cap, T-shirt, and recognition for participation. There will be one practice and one game per week.
This is a spring program. Registration will open in early 2017.
