Parks & Rec Employment Opportunities
Independent Contractors Instructors with Parks & Rec
An Independent Contract Instructor has a specialized skill and/or training in their area of expertise. Contract Instructors work through the Parks & Recreation Department to offer their classes/programs however they are not employees of the Department.
Contract Instructors develop their program curriculum & class schedule and set the course fee for each of their classes. The Parks & Recreation Department partners with Contract Instructors by providing space for their programs, some marketing support and registration services through the ActiveNet online regististration the department utilizes.
Contract Instructors may have their own cancellation/refund policy that differ from the Parks & Recreation Department's policies. Some Contract Instructors may also add an additional material fee for their class(es) that is paid directly to them by the participant at the first class session.
Contract Instructors are identified by name in our ActiveNet Online registration system and in our recreation guides.
For more information on Contract Instructor activities please call us (707) 431-3301.
If you are interested in becoming a Contract Instructor please call us or complete and return the course proposal form included in the Independent Contract Instructor Information Handbook.
