Shelter-in-Place Order Extended

The County's Shelter-in-Place Order has been extended with no end date but re-opens some businesses and allows more activities, such as golf courses.

Update - May 4, 2020: The new County Shelter-in-Place Order is here: It takes effect on May 4, 2020.

Update: The County of Sonoma Public Health Officer has amended the Parks Closure Order to allow limited public access to parks and opens spaces throughout Sonoma County – including Healdsburg – starting Thursday, April 29, 2020.

The amendment allows community members to walk, bike, or jog to a nearby park or open space from their homes. More info:


The intent of the Shelter-in-Place Order is to ensure that people remain in their homes and minimize social interactions outside of their immediate family. On March 31, the Sonoma County Public Health Officer extended the Shelter-in-Place Order through May 3. More info:

In addition, Sonoma County issued a Health Order, effective 12 AM on Friday, April 17, that requires everyone to wear face masks outside the home to further slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
