Sundays in the Plaza: The Healdsburg Community Band (MISC)

Join us for a series of relaxing afternoons in the plaza this summer. Each week will feature a live music performance from a local band or performer. Not to be confused with Tuesdays in the Plaza, this is a great opportunity to bring a picnic, sit back, relax and enjoy the melodies.
*There will be no Sundays in the Plaza performances on June 18 and July 2, 2023.
The Healdsburg Community Band (HCB) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the joy of music within our community. The founding of the Healdsburg Community Band interestingly began with an inquiry conversation between musicians, Lew Sbrana, and Larry and Judy Price. In the winter of 1981, the Prices belonged to the Rohnert Park Community Band. Through word of mouth, announcements in newspapers and to the Healdsburg High School band students the first rehearsal of the 20 – 30 member Healdsburg Community Band was held on a Tuesday night in January of 1982 at the old Healdsburg Junior High School with Lew Sbrana as the conductor. In 1995 the band started rehearsing in the new band room of Healdsburg High School where it still practices today.
