To the Healdsburg Community,

I realize many of us have been asking ourselves how we should be responding to COVID-19 commonly referred to as the Coronavirus.  It certainly has been a challenging 13 months.  However, with everything we have gone through as a community, there is no other place, I would rather be than in our Healdsburg community.  This health crisis is evolving almost faster than we can mentally process and you may wonder, “Will my family and I be OK? Will my parents? And as a Healdsburg community member, what is the City doing to help stop this crisis?”
 
I want to let you know that just as we did in the Kincade Fire, we here at the City of Healdsburg are doing everything in our power to help keep you and your family safe and informed.
 
Here are some of the pro-active steps we’re taking:
 

• We are working closely with Sonoma County’s Department of Emergency Management and Department of Health Services to monitor and respond to the coronavirus outbreak.
• On March 11, the City declared a Local Emergency in Healdsburg to more easily access state and federal resources should we need them to fight this outbreak. These resources include funding and mutual aid.
• We continue to work behind-the scenes to ensure that vital City services – such as electric and water/wastewater utility services -- will continue during this health crisis.
• We have placed hand-sanitizer stations throughout all City facilities for public and staff use. We have also posted posters in City facilities on good hygiene practice – the most effective way to keep you and your family healthy.
• We have suspended all Utility disconnections through the month of March.

• Cancelling City-sponsored public events such as the March 17 St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the April 18 Senior Center bus trip to San Francisco to see the play, “Book of Mormon.”
• The City has canceled all Senior Center programming through March 31. However, vital services such as to-go meals for seniors, Meals on Wheels, and the DASH program will continue as scheduled.
• All parks and recreation classes, activities, camps, and sports programs. 

• Operations at the Healdsburg Senior Center, Healdsburg Community  Center, and the Swim Center
• Special event permits, park permits, and picnic reservations
• Rentals and meetings at the Community Center and Senior Center
• And in consultation with the Tayman Group, events and gatherings at the Villa Chanticleer and Golf Course Clubhouse

  
City Hall is currently open to the public. The City is following the guidelines established by CA Department of Health and Human Services. It is important to note, if those guidelines change, the City will respond appropriately. Currently City Council meeting are still occurring at their normal day and time. For those of you who cannot attend, you may always email your comments to rallan@ci.healdsburg.ca.us. Those comments related to a specific agenda items or any public comment all become part of the official record.  As a reminder all of our Council meetings are live streamed at http://healdsburgca.iqm2.com/Citizens/default.aspx.
 
I’d also would like to address unconfirmed and often inaccurate information on COVID-19 that is being shared on social media and other channels. The most accurate, relevant, and up-to-date information about the coronavirus in Sonoma County can be found at www.socoemergency.org. This is what the City relies on to get our information.  We work hand-in-hand with the County on this messaging, which we also promote via the City website and social channels (Facebook and Nextdoor).
 
To get a national and global look at this pandemic, go to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, www.cdc.gov, as well as the World Health Organization’s website on the coronavirus: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019. I urge you to bookmark www.socoemergency.org and these other sites and digital platforms to get the most accurate information on this viral outbreak.
 
It is important to remember in times like this, we are not alone. We are not a society of strangers. We are a strong and resilient community and together, we will weather this and come out even stronger.

Me doy cuenta de que muchos de nosotros nos hemos estado preguntando cómo deberíamos responder al COVID-19 comúnmente conocido como el Coronavirus. Ciertamente han sido 13 meses desafiantes. Sin embargo, con todo lo que hemos pasado como comunidad, no hay otro lugar, preferible que en nuestra comunidad de Healdsburg. Esta crisis de salud está evolucionando casi más rápido de lo que podemos procesar mentalmente y usted se preguntaran: “¿Estaremos bien mi familia y yo? ¿Lo estaran  mis padres? Y como miembro de la Comunidad de Healdsburg, ¿qué está haciendo la Ciudad para ayudar a detener esta crisis?
Quiero hacerle saber que, tal como lo hicimos en el incendio de Kincade, aquí en la Ciudad de Healdsburg estamos haciendo todo lo que está a nuestro alcance para ayudarlo a usted y a su familia a estar seguros e informados.
 Estos son algunos de los pasos proactivos que estamos tomando:

• Estamos trabajando estrechamente con el Departamento de Manejo de Emergencias y el Departamento de Servicios de Salud del Condado de Sonoma para monitorear y responder al brote de coronavirus.
• El 11 de Marzo, la Ciudad declaró una Emergencia Local en Healdsburg para acceder más fácilmente a  los recursos estatales y federales en caso de que los necesitemos para combatir este brote. Estos recursos incluyen financiación y ayuda mutua.
• Continuamos trabajando detrás de escena para garantizar que los servicios vitales de la ciudad, como los servicios de electricidad y servicios de agua / aguas residuales, continúen durante esta crisis de salud.
• Hemos colocado estaciones de desinfección de manos en todas las instalaciones de la Ciudad para uso público y del personal. También hemos publicado carteles en las instalaciones de la Ciudad sobre buenas prácticas de higiene, la forma más efectiva de mantenerlo a usted y a su familia saludables.
• Hemos suspendido todas las desconexiones de servicios públicos (agua & luz)  durante el mes de Marzo.

• La Ciudad ha cancelado toda la programación del Centro para Personas de la Tercera Edad hasta el 31 de Marzo. Sin embargo, los servicios vitales como comidas para llevar para personas de la tercera edad, Meals on Wheels y el programa DASH continuarán según lo programado.
• Todos los parques y clases de recreación, actividades, campamentos y programas deportivos.
• Operaciones en el Centro de adultos mayores de Healdsburg, Centro de Comunidad y el Centro de natación.
• Permisos para eventos especiales, permisos de parque y reservaciones de picnic (areas recreacionales).
• Alquileres y reuniones en el Centro Comunitario y Centro de Personas Mayores.
• Y en consulta con el Grupo Tayman, eventos y reuniones en la Casa Club Villa Chanticleer y Golf Course.

El ayuntamiento está actualmente abierto al público. La Ciudad sigue las pautas establecidas por el Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos de CA. Es importante tener en cuenta, si esas pautas cambian,
