4th of July Fireworks Celebration

Fourth of July 2022
The City is proud to support Healdsburg’s American Legion in the return of the annual 4th of July fireworks show, and we are grateful for the financial support from the Healdsburg Tourism Improvement District for making this year’s show possible. Here are important updates for this year’s show that you should be aware of:

Where can I watch the fireworks?
Due to the size of this year’s show and to ensure spectator safety, viewing at the High School sports fields will not be available this year. Viewing will be available at the Fitch Mountain Elementary School Campus, on the west side of the High School in the parking lot area, and throughout other points in the City. Most of the fireworks will be visible 200 feet in the air and higher so look for places that provide a good view of the sky above the High School. PLEASE NOTE: alcohol is not permitted on school premises.

Will there be street closures around the High School?
We are not currently planning to close streets around the High School, so all streets remain open to vehicle traffic. This could change as we get closer to the show, and if it does, we will provide additional updates.

What about the danger of fire?
Healdsburg Fire Department has been working closely with the Fireworks Operator on planning for this year’s show and will be monitoring weather conditions right up until the start of the show. If weather conditions are not favorable, the show will be rescheduled or cancelled. We’ll post updates on the City’s website (www.healdsburg.gov) and the City’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/cityofhealdsburg) if conditions don’t allow the show to go on as planned.

Can I shoot off my own fireworks?
Private fireworks are illegal in Healdsburg and therefore not allowed. We are providing a professional public display for the enjoyment of our community. Anyone found shooting off fireworks will be subject to criminal penalties.

What time will the fireworks start and how long will they last?
We are planning to start at dark, approximately at 10:00 p.m. We will fire a test shot approximately one hour before the show to check conditions. The show is expected to last between 20 to 30 minutes.

4th of July Road Closures

4th of July Road Closures
The following road closures will occur on Monday, July 4, 2022, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm for the annual Fourth of July Community Celebration in Healdsburg:
  • Plaza Street, between Healdsburg Avenue and East Street
  • Center Street, between North Street and Matheson Street
The road closures are being put in place to safely accommodate the numerous event elements (bicycle parade, displays, food booths, duck dash, and children’s activities) and to create defined areas for set-up, activities, and pedestrian flow. The closures will provide a safe environment for event attendees and minimize vehicular and pedestrian interface in the areas immediately adjacent to the Plaza.

Woodie Guthrie's American Song

Woodie Guthrie

On July 1st through the 3rd and July 8th through 10th, you can enjoy a performance of Woody Guthrie's American Song  on the Healdsburg Plaza. Please be sure to bring your own seating or enjoy the VIP section. Each show starts at 7:30 pm. Adapted from the songs and writings of "America's premier folk poet," this foot-stomping sing-along show features such legendary classics as "Hard Travelin'", "Bound for Glory", and "This Land is Your Land". Woody believed that his works were best heard coming from the people around him, and Woody Guthrie's American Song takes that philosophy to heart. General Admission: Free; VIP Seating: $25. This show is co-sponsored with Raven Performing Arts Theater. For additional information, please visit: https://www.ci.healdsburg.ca.us/963/Theater-in-the-Park
