Combating Isolation and Depression during COVID-19
Isolation at any age is difficult on the mind, body, and soul. For older adults, isolation can lead to depression, cognitive decline, create an increased fall risk, and raise other health concerns. To battle isolation and depression, the Senior Center will provide opportunities for older adults to safely exercise and engage with neighbors to maintain important human connections. Care Calls, Porch Visits, and Outdoor Classes and Meetings are the ways the Senior Center is currently fighting against isolation. Future modified special events in 2021 will provide opportunities for seniors to help brighten these darker days.
