Healdsburg Avenue Improvement Study

The Healdsburg Avenue Improvement Study will analyze Healdsburg Avenue from Powell Avenue to the northern city limits for the potential to implement "complete streets" concepts and other streetscape enhancements. Complete streets are planned, designed, operated, and maintained to provide safe and convenient mobility for all users, including, but not limited to, pedestrians of all ages, bicyclists, transit and transit users, passenger and commercial vehicles, and individuals with disabilities.

Together with the residents of Healdsburg, users of Healdsburg Avenue, and business owners in the area, the City of Healdsburg is developing a compete streets and streetscape enhancement plan that will document the community's vision for improving Healdsburg Avenue. This plan will also give the City a comprehensive perspective from which to make strategic decisions for improving Healdsburg Avenue.

Community Workshops

Flyer about April 30 Community Workshop on Healdsburg Avenue Improvement Study

The public is invited to provide input on how North Healdsburg Avenue can be improved for pedestrians and cyclists as well as vehicle-drivers at a community workshop on Tuesday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at the Healdsburg Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Avenue.

The workshop is part of the Healdsburg Avenue Improvement Study, which will explore the potential to implement "complete streets" concepts and other streets enhancements. Complete streets are planned, designed, operated, and maintained to provide safe and convenient mobility for all users, including, but not limited to, pedestrians of all ages, bicyclists, transit and transit users, passenger and commercial vehicles, and individuals with disabilities.

The April 30 workshop is the first of two such community meetings to help the City develop an overall vision of streetscape improvements on Healdsburg Avenue, from Powell Avenue to the northern city limits. The second workshop will be held this summer, date to be determined.

These workshops aren't the only venues to provide public input. In March, the City convened a series of focus-group meetings to gather input from residents and businesses.

Online Survey

Flyer of Map Survey asking people to take the online survey

The City has just made available an online map-based survey (in both English and Spanish) so people can note specific places and intersections that need improvement. Here's the survey link: http://bit.ly/healdsburgstudy

The purpose of this survey is to document the overall community vision, project goals, and the range of improvements that are possible from Healdsburg Avenue. The City will also be holding workshops and open houses in partnership with the community. Findings from this online survey and the workshops will be discussed at all future community forums.

This is not a typical survey. You will be asked to mark up a map and answer questions about specific locations along Healdsburg Avenue.
