On February 8, the City's Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the draft management plan for Fitch Mountain Park and Open Space Preserve. After thoughtful public input and discussion, the Commission recommended to the City Council that the draft Plan be amended to incorporate the revised framework that removes Park Improvement Area 2 from the summit and the uses associated with this concept, as well as other minor modifications to the Plan.
In addition, the Commission recommended that the City work with the community to develop use policies for the Park and Open Space Preserve that would be reviewed by the Parks and Recreation Commission and adopted by City Council prior to the property transfer to the City.
The City expects to release the final draft Plan on February 15, and City Council is anticipated to review the final draf Plan on March 6, 2017.
