Work to Improve Road and Utilities on North Healdsburg Avenue
to Begin March 27

The “North Healdsburg Ave. Improvement Project” is part of the Montage Healdsburg hotel/residential development project

Healdsburg, Calif. (March 26, 2018) – On March 27, the Robert Green Company, the developer of the upcoming 258-acre Montage Healdsburg hotel and residential development property, will start improving a northern section of Healdsburg Ave. as the first stage of public enhancements related to this development. This work is estimated to take about five months, ending in September.

The road improvements will be located on about 2,000 feet -- or a little less than a half-mile -- along Healdsburg Ave., starting approximately 1,000 feet north of Simi Winery entrance heading north towards Alexander Valley Rd.

The road-improvement work will take the two-lane road down to one lane with a flagman directing traffic. North Healdsburg Avenue will remain open to traffic, but this work will cause traffic delays through this area between 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. All lanes will be open to the public at the end of each work day and on the weekends.

The road enhancements along North Healdsburg Ave. include:

  • Undergrounding overhead utilities on the east side of North Healdsburg Ave;
  • Widening the road with turn lanes onto a newly configured Passalacqua Rd.;
  • Adding new bus stop locations on the east and west side of road;
  • Installing new asphalt paving and striping and new underground drainage and utilities;
  • Installing new street lighting and new traffic signal for future city of Healdsburg Fire sub-station with sidewalk access.

The benefits of this plan, in addition to better traffic access and flow, include pedestrian access to future bus stops, a future community park site and future public trails on the 258-acre property. The contractor for the road-improvement project is the Santa Rosa-based Ghilotti Construction Company.

Montage Healdsburg will begin construction in spring 2018 and open in spring 2020. The resort will feature 130-room bungalow-style accommodations with a restaurant and spa. A collection of Montage Residences is planned for future phase of development and will include single-family homes as well as custom home sites. Montage Hotels & Resorts, a luxury hospitality management company, will manage and operate the new Montage Healdsburg.

Thank you for your patience while these improvements to the north edge of town are underway.
