[ARCHIVED] Power Line Maintenance; Free Wood Chips and Rounds

A pile of wood chips in home driveway

Every month, a City of Healdsburg contractor trims tree branches away from power lines to keep branches away from high-voltage electric lines. In June 2020, you will see the contractor in town starting June 8. This important maintenance helps with system reliability and keeps our community safe during wildfire season and beyond.

For information about utility wildfire safety, please read our FAQs: https://www.ci.healdsburg.ca.us/907/Attention---Utility-Wildfire-Safety

Free Wood Chips and Rounds

In addition, if you are interested in large quantities of tree chippings for your garden or yard, please contact the contractor, Family Tree Service, at 707-512-0384 to be added to the "free wood and chip program.” This company can also deliver free wood rounds and random lengths (you will need to cut to firewood). Wood may be any tree species and chips may include mixed debris including poison oak or blackberries – please call the number above for more info.
